Tim Russell Episode 3

Thursday May 29, 2025
Coming up next on Police Pod Talk a heartfelt tribute to one of Fort Wayne’s finest.
Over the next four episodes, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday Police Pod Talk is proud to honor the life and legacy of retired Fort Wayne Police Officer and beloved Detective, Tim Russell—a man whose badge carried weight, but whose smile carried more.
Tim wasn’t just a well-known name in the Fort Wayne Police Department. He was a respected Detective, a familiar face in the community, and a friend to students, teachers, and neighbors alike. From the streets to the schools, everyone knew Officer Russell. But more than his titles or his tenure, Tim will always be remembered for one simple thing—his heart.
He was the kind of Officer who could walk into a squad meeting, say almost nothing, and still have the whole room in tears laughing—just by being there. His presence alone brought lightness to the job and comfort to those around him. In a world of tension, Tim Russell was relief. He was real. He was funny. And somehow, he always got the job done.
These next four episodes are never-before-aired conversations that were once left on the cutting room floor. But in light of Tim’s passing, our host felt it was only right to dust them off and play them—in honor of one of Fort Wayne’s finest, and certainly one of its funniest.
Join us as we remember a man who didn’t just wear the badge—he wore the respect and love of an entire city.
This is for you, Detective Tim Russell.

Monday's episode on Police Pod Talk: “The Stick, The Stop, and The Suspension”
In our next powerful episode of Police Pod Talk, your host Cleveland dives into a controversial arrest that made headlines and sparked serious debate. In Columbia County, Florida, a legally blind man was stopped by police who believed he had a weapon in his back pocket. It turned out to be nothing more than a walking stick.
Despite calmly explaining he was walking home from jury duty and clearly showing both officers the item was not a weapon, things took a turn ending in his arrest for Resisting Law Enforcement.
Cleveland is joined by retired Officer Cornell Wiley, who brings decades of Law Enforcement experience to the table. Together, they break down the body-cam footage, analyze the Officer’s decisions, and discuss what could’ve been done differently especially in light of the suspension of two Officers involved in the incident.
Was this a failure in training, judgment, or communication?
